The theme of this weekend is simply to provide an opportunity for teams in all levels to play in a competitive and friendly atmosphere against players from other communities, provinces and even countries early in the playing season. Once again we are aligning the event by promoting awareness of Breast Cancer. Throughout the weekend there will be fund raising events where all proceeds will go to the Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research. We are in the process of trying to secure corporate sponsorship that will allow us to contribute even more over the course of the weekend.

Teams participating in the Open Recreational Division must currently be involved in a recognized recreational league and participating players must be on their official league roster. They may not pick up players from a higher division in their league. If a team is short players they may pick up a registered player from another team who plays in the same division in their league. In the Senior Open Rec. division individuals may participate as a player with one team only during the event. There will be exceptions at the discretion of the tournament committee in the case of a goaltender. Any pick ups must have the approval of the tournament committee before they are allowed to play Team Roster is required to be faxed to the Tournament office by October 24th.
Because the Open Rec. division is not part of the sanctioned side of the tournament, a player who is a member of a carded team playing on the sanctioned side of the tournament is also eligible to play for both teams.
The tournament will start on Friday November 5th around 4:00 PM. Every effort will be made to book later games for teams who will be traveling from out of town. Round robin games will be played Friday and Saturday. All Semi final, consolation and championship games will be held on Sunday. All games should be completed by 6:30 PM. Please make note of this when booking your travel schedules if you are flying or traveling from outside the Lower Mainland.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call. I look forward to seeing everyone in November.
