CENTRE ICE NOVEMBER ICEBREAKER TOURNAMENT

November 5, 6, 7, 2004 Canlan Ice Sports, Burnaby

2004 marks the 10th year of this tournament and every year the number of teams participating grows in leaps and bounds. The first event in 1995 featured 8 Sr. Women's "AA" teams primarily from the Lower Mainland . Last year 61 teams and over 900 players competed at the Midget, Women's Recreational and Sr. AA levels. Players come from as far away as Portland, Southern California, Montana, Seattle and various cities throughout BC. Attending teams find that this weekend provides good competitive hockey with an emphasis on sportsmanship and fun!

The theme of this weekend is simply to provide an opportunity for teams in all levels to play in a competitive and friendly atmosphere against players from other communities, provinces and even countries early in the playing season. Once again we are aligning the event by promoting awareness of Breast Cancer. Throughout the weekend there will be fund raising events where all proceeds will go to the Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research. We are in the process of trying to secure corporate sponsorship that will allow us to contribute even more over the course of the weekend.
