2010 Summer Camps

*** All New Programs ***

Centre Ice has been the choice of many accomplished athletes. We stress the development of the entire athlete through a holistic teaching approach. Our staff is dedicated to the full development of players both on and off the ice.

We also provide opportunities for personal development through off-ice activities such as mental and fitness training. We offer full room and board programs at Summerland with 24-Hour supervision, as well as nutritionally balanced meals that compliment the philosophies taught in our off-ice lectures. Classes are kept to a reasonable size to provide the best possible learning environment.

July 11 - 17 (Summerland): (see prices for programs A & B below)

A). Advanced Player Development - (formally the Advanced Class)

Players registered in these programs will be placed into their respective age groups, or according to their individueal skill level. On Ice instruction includes puck handling skills, shooting techniques, skating efficiency as well as offensive / deffensive strategies. The drills related to these skills are conducted at a high tempo with emphasis on skill executions while learning various team systems. Teaching team systems is done using both on and off ice techniques.

Our coaches have extensive experience at both the Provincial and National team level. It is expected that players joining this program have had previous hockey experience and have played at a competitive club level.

Space is limited to 25 players. We reserve the right to evaluate each participant to ensure that they are placed in the appropriate class. This will be based on the players current skill level and experience compared to a standard minimum expected level of performance for an elite athlete at this stage in their development. Application to this program does not guarantee a position.

This Program Includes:
- 3 hours daily on ice instruction
- Daily strength and conditioning program with J.Colvin.
- Daily Power Skating
- Video Skills Analysis: players are given an opportunity to go one on one with experienced coaches to evaluate their individual and team skills.
- Offensive/Defensive strategies
- Topical Lectures-yearly training plans, scholarship opportunities, how to sell yourself to proper nutrition.
